The MCQP party takes place in December in Cape Town. Each year the theme is different. More than 10,000 people attend the event. MCQP, which started in 1994 as a highlight on the Cape Town gay calendar, has grown into South Africa’s biggest dress-to-theme party attended by all sorts of fun-loving creatives, from all over the world.
Each year, event director Ian McMahon and his team devises a spectacular theme for the annual event. The aim is simple; to provide a basis for partygoers to unleash their creativity!
Patrons have about two months to come up with original, innovative and of course fabulous outfits to wear for their moment in the limelight.
As with anything it’s all about location, location, location! And there’s no better setting than Cape Town for this free-spirited event. To change the scenery, the MCQP Party Cape Town has rocked several iconic venues in and around the Mother City. MCQP is not just a dress-up party.
